Works Great Mar 16, 2010 A little pricey, but works really well.Using a multimeter,It puts out 8 volts on sunny days.I use it for aa and aaa.Takes around 4 hours to charge 4 800amh aaa batteries and around 6 or 7 hours to charge 4 aa 1200mah batteries.Really light weight.I would be careful not to drop it or bang it around, which isn't that hard to do.

4 battery charger Mar 10, 2010 I suppose it's charging' but there isn't any indicator or light that shows it's working. Otherwise, it saves energy by using clean energy to get the job done.

Works great charging cell phones Oct 31, 2009 This was a gift for family living in a remote area in the Philippines. They don't have electricity in their home, but everybody there has a cell phone. This lets them charge the cell phones without paying to use somebody's generator. They've said it actually charges up the phones very quickly.

A Must Have For Extended Power Outages Oct 18, 2009 The solar powered charger is exactly what I was looking for. I totally drained my Tenergy "D" cell rechargeable batteries, put them in the solar charger, put the unit in a exterior window on the sunny side of the house for 10 hours & had a 90% charge in all four batteries. The solar charger works with all common battery types, AAA, AA, C, & D. Most good quality rechargeable batteries can be recharged up to 1000 times.
I do not understand why anyone who may be without power for a couple of days or couple of weeks could survive without a solar charger. You could stock up on regular batteries & and when they are dead you throw them out, what a waste.

Well, it works Jan 05, 2009 What can I say? It recharged my 4 C Energizers in winter-level sunlight in one afternoon.
It does require you to recharge 4 batteries at once, can't handle 9V batteries, and if your cell phone power plug isn't one of the 4 types it attaches to, you're SOL. Other than that, it appears to do what it claims.
