What you see is not what you will get Dec 24, 2007 The product shown is not what I received. Friendly Robotics site doesn't show a picture of the product so I can't tell if mine is a newer version or what. My Robomower is at my parents' house which is thousands of miles away so I can't try this out until next visit. If it doesn't work, it will be returned. Even if it works, I feel this charger is grossly overpriced. If I have a choice I won't buy it.

Pricey, but works okay May 07, 2006 I bought this in February and have only had a chance to use it a few times so far. It does recharge the battery much faster than the trickle charger built in to the Robomower (~2 hours of charge for each hour of use, versus 13 hours for the trickle charger).
The unit has a cooling fan that only comes on when it's charging the battery. Unfortunately when I bought mine, my battery was fully charged, so I didn't hear the fan till I first used the mower nearly 3 months later, and the fan was making an terrible buzzing noise. I removed the end cover and found that the entire fan assembly pivots easily, almost as if it's mounted on a gimbal. I think it must have knocked out of alignment during shipping and made the fan rub against the shroud. I realigned it and now it makes no noise (well, normal fan noise) while charging.
Overall I'm happy with it. My only real complaint is that it costs quite a bit more than it really should, but then this is Robomower stuff, and it's all more expensive than it should be.
