Very useful device Jun 08, 2010 This device works like a charm. You never have to enter a dark room again. It is also perfect by the couch or the bed for creating atmosphere by dimming lights or turning on (or off) the stereo. I now have 3 of them for different rooms.

Nice after setup. Feb 02, 2010 This unit is very handy for me. I have 4 sets of lights in my office controlled by X10. I keep this on my desk to have handy control of the lighting. Setup is not like it used to be with rotary switches. So save the instruction sheet so you can determine the house code or change it.
X10 continues as usual Sep 27, 2008 This thing never worked and it is too cheap to bother returning. Other X10 remotes that I have work well but the buttons wear out quickly and now you must press very hard to activate them. X10 has had a quality problem for years. Many of their modules don't work well for very long. I'll try a different brand next time. X10 is the cheapest but maybe this is a situation where you get what you pay for.

Well Built, Handy and Versatile Jun 06, 2008 This is a gem of a device! I was pleasantly surprised when these little remotes arrived and I could see how well constructed they are! Excellent range in my opinion as I can control my lights from my car on the street. My transceiver is upstairs at the back of the house!
The best thing about these little remotes is that with a little planning and some creative macro writing (easy with the ActiveHome software) you can actually control 8 or more different lights or appliances!
One button checks to see if any of my living room lights are off and then turns them all on. If all of the lights are already on, it turns them all off. Another button switches the lights to movie mode, press the same button again and you've got reading mode!
With macros, the versatility is endless! And this device is so slim! About 1/4 as thick as my truck keychain remote and just as sturdy!

Only set to "A" May 23, 2008 Be aware that the remote is only set to "A". If you use another letter in your program it won't work.
